We're trying to bring a greater sense of cohesiveness within the DCU.
*looks at the complete lack of continuity between books and total confusion amongst fans about the histories of the characters post-IC and what is and what isn't canon now*

They could start by firing all the writers except Dini, Morrison and Simone.
Yeah, the DCU continuity is a total mess right now. I'll disagree with Joel and say that the problem is the editors and not the writers, though. A lot of the continuity slips since OYL (both factual and in characterization) could have been fixed with a little editorial discretion. That said, there are a lot better DC writers than Morrison at keeping the universe in order. Greg Rucka and Mark Waid are two off the top of my head.
i gotta blame the editors, too. It's there job, ultimately, to keep this stuff on track. If a writer wants to break continuity, it's their job to say "no".
Like, whose fault is it that DC won't stop doing these world-changing Events long enough to tell us what's changed? It's not the writers' fault.
